After losing 2 dogs within 1 1/2 years picking out a new family member/dog was quite the challenge. We worked from the Petfinders web sight. Our hearts were broken by all the choices. My husband and I each chose 17 dogs to consider. Then we each narrowed our choices to 10. Finally we picked our final choices. Buckley was on both lists. On May 5 we went to meet him at your shelter. When he was brought out he jumped right into my lap! I guess he picked us.
It’s obvious that he came from a good home. He’s housebroken and walks on a leach like he’s done it all his life. He is excellent with all kids, even new-borns. And there is no Napoleon complex with him. We’ve had all-sized dogs over and he’s great. He rides well in a car and has had road trips to Ohio.
What compelled anyone to give him up?
His goal in life seems to be keeping us safe from trucks, bikes and motor cycles as well as men in uniforms.
Thank you so much for bringing Buckley to us.
Sincerely,
Sylvia and Joe Frattaroli
