Sometimes miracles can happen. Meet 7-year old Eden who was surrendered to the shelter when her owner could no longer take care of her. After several weeks in foster care, a wonderful family fell in love with Eden and wanted to adopt her. Surprisingly, Eden was discovered to be pregnant, so the adoption was put on hold for a minimum of 12 weeks to allow the puppies to be born and become old enough to themselves be adopted. The adopting family was determined to wait for Eden and they visited her while she was in a different foster home with her newborn puppies. When Eden was finally ready for her spay, the doctors discovered a type of mammary mass that is almost always malignant. Amazingly, her soon-to-be-family was even more determined to give Eden a home for as long as she needed one. Without knowing the results of the biopsy, they completed the adoption and took Eden home to recover. Two miracles happened that day. Eden found her guardian angels and her mass was determined to be benign. Congratulations to Eden (now Lucy) and a huge thank you to the Sherman family for showing us the true meaning of rescue!
