Tim came to live with me on May 31st of 2013 and even though we did not know that much about him, he needed a home and obviously deserved one. He had been picked up as a stray and rescued from a kill shelter by Help Save Pets. What a remarkable little guy he has turned out to be. He is 5 years old and knows sit, stay and down as commands. He is most definitely housebroken because he “tells me” when it is time to go out. He does not jump on furniture and likes to look out the front door window. He is very social with other dogs and is good with children. Let’s say Tim has made a difference in my life and I think I have made a difference in his. I guess we saved each other.
The people at Help Save Pets were incredible. They wanted to be sure that I knew as much as possible about TIm and spent a lot of time with me. They wanted to be sure we were a good match. Anita helped me fill out the application and Maggie explained as many personality traits that Tim might have and how to retrain him if necessary. All their attention has paid off. Tim is well adjusted and comfortable with his new home and new human. He is also gradually becoming a good watch dog. He is protective of the house and will bark at strangers.
He was not perfect of course. Walking on a leash was a challenge but now he walks nicely (until he sees a squirrel). Tim also had some minor medical issues from running as a stray but the good doctors made sure he was healthy when he left with me. They do a great job there, The volunteers also made sure Tim had a good bath and brush before he came home with me.
The people at Help Save Pets named him Timothy because he did noy have any type of ID but he acts and looks more like a Tim so Tim it now is!
Thank you Help Save Pets!
